Meet the Tools Behind the Magic
Let us introduce you to the tools that help bring our jewellery to life!
At Creative Factory YOO, every piece is lovingly handcrafted — and just like any artist, we rely on a trusty set of tools to turn raw materials into wearable art. From traditional techniques to modern precision, here's a peek into what we use in the studio:
This Metal Stamp Is Our Most Precious Tool!!
Every piece of jewellery we create carries more than craftsmanship — it carries a legacy.
This metal stamp, [游], has been part of our journey since 1975. It symbolises the spirit and soul of our original studio, 創作工房 游 (Sousaku Koubou YOO), which first opened its doors in Japan in 1975.
Today, Ai continues this heartfelt tradition in Tasmania, still using the [游] stamp with deep respect for her mother — the founder — and as a way to keep the creative spirit of the studio alive.
Each time we imprint this character onto our jewellery, it’s a quiet but powerful tribute to where we came from, and a promise to carry that same care, intention, and artistry into every piece we make.
This is more than a mark — it’s our story.
Metal Stamps
A guide to the marks we use to identify each precious metal in your jewellery.
Each piece we create is stamped with a small mark to indicate the metal type
— a standard way to show authenticity, quality, and care in fine jewellery making.
In the photo on the right (from left to right), here’s what each stamp represents:
375 – 9ct Gold 750 – 18ct Gold
18ct – 18ct Gold K18 – 18ct Gold, large stamp
K18 – 18ct Gold, small stamp WG – White Gold
[游] – Our legacy maker's mark, in use since 1985
925 – Sterling Silver, large stamp 925 – Sterling Silver, small stamp
SILVER – Sterling Silver, small format SILVER – Sterling Silver, large format
These stamps are usually placed in a discreet area of each piece and are a subtle way of showing the material’s authenticity while honouring our craftsmanship.
Soldering Station
This cheerful little dragon on the right-hand side was handcrafted by Kyoko, our founder.
Now, it keeps Ai company in the studio — always smiling and helping hold her soldering picks.
Micromotor
This small but powerful machine plays a big role in our jewellery-making process.
We use different attachments for carving, polishing and refining every tiny detail — it's a true workhorse in the studio!
